Fredericks: Let’s get to Laurie Cordoza-Moore. She’s founder and president of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations. You want to take back your country, you’ve got to take back the school boards. You’ve got to get involved.
You’ve got to get off the couch, stop whining, start winning. As Napoleon said, I came back to Paris. I took a stroll down the Boulevard one night, I couldn’t sleep.
I saw the crown lying in the gutter. I simply bent over and picked it up with my sword and now I’m king. It’s all you have to do. Laurie, you got a great story. How do we take these school boards over?
Moore: It’s very simple. Parents have to start showing up at school board meetings. They have to start reading the textbooks. One of the great silver linings in the COVID cloud was that parents got to see once and for all what we have been shouting from the rooftops for the last decade.
We were telling parents to look at the content in their children’s curriculum, read their textbooks, sit in on the school board meetings and listen to what they’re discussing, what they’re approving to teach their children.
For a decade, I couldn’t get people to go. Maybe a handful of people would show up. Then COVID happened and parents started listening in on their child’s virtual classroom. They started listening to the content of what was being introduced to their child in this virtual classroom and parents went nuts.
Then we had parents, the schools opening back up, but the kids had to be there but then there was the mask mandates and the vaccine mandates, and parents just lit up. This has been the most incredible thing, John, that I’ve seen.
I’ve been involved in a lot of the pro-life causes and with conservative issues. And I have never seen an issue ignite parents faster than when parents started to find out that their children were being used as propaganda guinea pigs.
We look at our country, we wonder why our children are tearing down monuments and destroying public property. Well, they’ve been learning it in the schools for the last decade. This is what we’ve been saying.
But now parents, thank God, are waking up. We saw it in Williamson County, where I’m from, a decade ago. We saw it in Loudoun County.
It’s happening in counties across this country because, John, let’s face it, when your own federal government wants to use the Patriot Act in order to designate parents and citizens who happen to go to school board meetings and complain about what they’re teaching our children, what they’re forcing on our children, calling them domestic terrorists, this is unacceptable.
Ladies and gentlemen, all you school board members, we’re putting you all on notice in all 14,000 school districts. We are coming after your district, and we’re coming after your seat.
Fredericks: What’s your blueprint for parents that want to get involved? Because action, action, action. Sitting around and whining on Facebook isn’t going to do crap, right? We got to get involved.
And the first thing you got to do is, we say this all the time, join your local Republican Party. First thing to do, committee or city, I don’t care how boring it is. You’ve got to scarf down the stupid powdered eggs on a Saturday. I get it. I hate it. We all hate it.
But then you can take it over. You become a precinct captain. You get involved in working the polls or as an election board worker. Second thing, run for school board. How tough is it to run for school board and to get rid of some of these Woke Marxists?
Moore: It’s not difficult at all. And as a nonprofit organization, I can’t pick and choose parties, but I can tell you that what parents can do is they can start reading the content that their children are being subjected to. Go to the school library.
If they’ll let you in and look at the pornographic content that they’re exposing to our children, we have to be educated and informed. And one of the first ways to do that is to come to our summit this weekend in sunny Orlando.
And of course, this is our Taking Back America’s Children’s Summit. It’s Saturday night and all day Sunday, rigorous training on helping parents take back and flip their school boards, because that’s the goal this year.
This is an election year. Back a decade ago when we found an anti-Semitic textbook in our school in Williamson County, Tennessee, we mobilized the citizens.
We started putting out radio spots, commercials on talk shows, conservative talk shows and Christian talk shows, telling parents, do you know what your child is learning today? And then we’d give them examples.
We ended up packing the house of a school board meeting. Parents lined up, told the school board members to get rid of this anti-Semitic book. And of course, I got up and told them, either you get rid of this book or we’re getting rid of you.
This is an election year. There were six school board members that were up for reelection. They all voted that night to keep that textbook. So guess what, John? We went to work the next day. We had four months to find six candidates to run.
And then come Election Day in August, four months later, every one of those six that were up for re-election, we brought down. We flipped that school board. And so that’s the model that we’re using.
When parents have a victory like this, it makes them feel empowered, and then they go on and do it. It’s happening all over the country. But we saw in Vail, Arizona, last year where a whole community took over their school board.
The school board walked out of a meeting. They resigned right there. There must have been an attorney in the room and understood Robert’s Rules of Order − he jumped in. He started calling for parents. “We need five school board members. Who wants to run?” Somebody would raise their hand. He’d denounce the person. “We need a second.” And everybody else voted. They had a whole new school board of parents who were representing their children on the school board in one evening.
Can it be done? Absolutely, John, but it requires that we get involved in the process. You got to be educated. You got to know who your school board members are.
You got to talk to them. If you don’t know your school board member, well, there’s no better time than now to get to meet them.
Fredericks: So I’m in Pickett City. If I’m into Cobb County, Georgia, or I’m in Loudoun County, Virginia, wherever I might be, and I’m thinking, I can’t stand these school board members. They’re just Woke. They’re left-wing.
I don’t know how they got in here, but look, I’ve got two of them up. I’m going to run for the school board. I’m going to just try to represent parents.
How do they do that? Do they call you up? Do you have an apparatus to say, hey, this is kind of the procedure. What would an average person do in order to do that?
Moore: We go into the community, and you can’t do it alone. You have to build a coalition, a group of people. And so typically what I do, I get invited to speak in a community that wants to get engaged and flip their school board.
